SUMMER  FUN!  Join us July 1st for a Summer Meal Cookout from 11 am - 12:30  pm at Blue River Memorial  Shelter House.  Menu:  Hotdogs on the grill, Watermelon, Corn on the Cob.  Visit with Chef Mark and Dietitian Diana for our July  Discovery  Kitchen where we will feature a fun way to  add more fruit into your diet this summer! Shelbyville Central Schools is pleased to announce that beginning Thursday, June 2nd , FREE breakfast and lunch will be provided at three (3) locations in our community by the Shelbyville Central Schools Food Service Department as part of a USDA federally funded food program (SFSP). Both breakfast and lunch are FREE to all children 18 and younger and will be served Monday thru Friday of each week from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the following locations: 1. Shelbyville Boys and Girls Club, Parking Lot Breakfast will be served 7:00-8:00 AM at both the Boys and Girls Club. 2. Loper Elementary School, Cafeteria Breakfast will be served from 9:00-9:30 AM at the Loper Cafeteria 3. Kennedy Park 4. YMCA-Summer camps These meals provide essential nutrients for active, growing kids. To participate in the SCS 2022 Summer Meals Program, all kids have to do is show up at one of the open sites. Meals must be consumed on site. No application or registration is required. Menu subject to change based upon availability. 2022 Robotics Camp for Incoming 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Students  Are you interested in being on the robotics team or just learning more about robotics in general?    Shelbyville Middle School will be hosting a robotics camp for incoming 4th, 5th, and 6th graders this summer!  When: July 25th - 29th from 9 am-Noon. (Lunch will be provided)  Where: Shelbyville Middle School  Cost: A registration fee of $100 is due before June 3 in order to save your spot at the limited capacity camp.  Payment must be returned to Shelbyville Middle School by Monday, May 30th.  You will need to provide your own transportation to and from camp. Checks made payable to SMS Robotics.  Students will work hands-on with middle school and elementary coaches to build a robot, program a robot, and learn about the upcoming VEX IQ challenge. This is a great event for students who have never worked with VEX robotics and for students that have some experience to gain knowledge about competition robotics. Tree Trot 5k Run/Walk  Saturday, April 23rd, 2022  Blue River Memorial Park 725 Lee Blvd. Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 Location: Meet for check-in and race day registration at the main shelter house of Blue River Park. The start/finish line is located nearby.    Bathrooms available are directly next to the main shelter house.  $30.00  Pre-registration ends on 04/21/22  Mail-in registration to Alpha Timing, 103 W Boggstown Rd.  Awards: Age group (male and female) winners receive potted tree saplings and the top three overall receive a homemade medal!   10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-30, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-80, 80 & over  Check-in - 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.at Blue River Park shelter house  Tree Trot 5k Run/Walk Saturday, April 23rd, 2022  Advocate for our local environment and aquatic ecosystem by participating in the “Tree Trot!” All proceeds raised will go directly to purchasing big trees to plant on the Blue River Cross Country  Course.  For those who opt. to walk the “Tree Trot,” a member of the local environmental advocacy group, Master Gardeners will lead an informative overview of the Little Blue River watershed!
