Kindergarten Enrollment
Attention: Incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 1, 2025, to be eligible for the 2025–2026 school year. Please complete the following three steps to enroll your child:
Step 1: Enrollment Packet
Complete the Kindergarten Round-Up Packet. You can pick up a packet from the elementary school assigned to your address and return it to the same school. Golden Bear Preschool students will receive their packets directly from the preschool and should return them to the preschool.
Step 2: Documentation
Submit the following required documents:
● Birth certificate
● Immunization records
● Three pieces of mail as proof of residency
● Parent/guardian identification (state issued ID/license)
You may return these documents along with the enrollment packet to the school office by May 23, 2025; during the Registration Help Sessions on July 21 and 22, 2025; or when the school offices reopen on July 23, 2025.
Step 3: Registration
●Parents must register students online. Please note that registration and enrollment are separate processes.
● Online registration opens on July 21, 2025. Families who need assistance with online registration are encouraged to attend the Registration Help Sessions on July 21 and 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shelbyville Middle School.
Further information about the registration process will be available on each school’s website prior to the start of the enrollment period, including important dates and necessary documentation.
** Parents requesting consideration for early entrance to kindergarten should complete this form and either mail it to or drop it off at our Administration Offices, located at 1121 E. State Road 44, Shelbyville, IN 46176
